What is numerology
Numerology is the language of numbers. It is said that everything in the world is dependent upon numbers. Each number has its own unique vibration, giving it certain properties. It is those properties which can have an impact and influence within the universe and on us as individuals. The vibratory influence of each number provides a message that can be used as a guide to our destiny.
How does numerology work
The key to numerology is to convert anything we seek guidance on back to a core number so we can understand the characteristics of its destiny and the message that it provides. We find this core number by first converting all letters from the names linked to the subject that we are seeking guidance on to a numerical value. We then add that numerical value and any other existing numbers of the subject together, and keep repeatedly adding those values together until we reach one of the core numbers.
The core numbers used in numerology are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 22. Each of these core numbers has a different set of characteristics that gives us an insight in to our destiny and an outlook on occurrences within the universe.
Today the most common use of numerology is to add our full name and date of birth to discover our personal characteristics and life path.

History of numerology
Most followers of numerology credit ancient Greek philosopher Pythagoras (570 BC to 495 BC) with the foundations of numerology. Pythagoras’ theories evolved to the saying “all is number”. One interpretation of this saying is that people can measure everything in the world and describe it in terms of numbers and proportions. This then led to the modern conclusion that everything in the world is made of numbers and can be reduced to a numerical core value.
